The signing conference was chaired by Senior Lieutenant General Le Huy Vinh, Deputy Defense Minister and Head of the Ministry of National Defense’s Steering Committee on Administrative Reform and E-government Development.

Under the deal, the two signatories will cooperate to complete the legal environment in digital transformation and other software according to the set plan. They will standardize and digitalize processes and report forms; build a digital platform; and build a digital transformation operation room for the Department of Transport and the Department of Military Supplies. In addition, refresher courses will be held to improve skills related to information technology, e-government development and digital transformation for the GDL’s staff. The two sides will work together and provide resources for digital transformation in logistics affairs as well.

An overview of the event

Addressing the event, Sr. Lt. Gen. Le Huy Vinh applauded the General Department of Logistics for its serious, effective implementation of digital transformation and its achievements in the work.

He highlighted the GDL’s active collaboration with relevant units, particularly Viettel, to fulfill the work, contributing to spreading the spirit of digital transformation in the unit and building an infrastructure network to serve the leadership and management work.

General Vinh asked the GDL to pro-actively and firmly digitalize the military logistics sector by 2025; attach digital transformation to administrative reform and effective exploitation of national digital data; digitalize administrative procedures under the management of the logistics sector; and focus on building a logistics data center..

The GDL was also requested to work closely with Viettel Group to update its personnel with information security skills and measures, make the most of assigned digital transformation products, among others.

The deputy defense minister believed that the GDL and Viettel will complete the digital transformation work in 2023, thus fulfilling all assigned tasks.
