This is an occasion for participants to raise their communication ability using the Chinese language so as to promptly perform tasks in border areas, especially troops in charge with managing border gates, while meeting all task requirements in protecting and safeguarding national sovereignty and border security in the current context.

* Earlier, on May 5, Tong Cot Border Post under the Cao Bang provincial Border Guard Command also opened a refresher course on the H’mong language among its troops.

During the 45-day long course, attendees are equipped with basic knowledge of the Hmong language and practice the four skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing, while learning more about the cultural features of the ethnic minority group. After that, they will tour the areas where H’mong people are living to have more practical experience.

Lecturers of the class are border troops who are H’mong people, and the locals who have good command of the H’mong language, customs and cultures.

The course targets to help troops understand more about the Hmong ethnic people to better carry out their assigned tasks.
