At the opening ceremony of the language course

The class consists of 95 border officers and soldiers as well as staffers of the Nam Can international border gate Customs Sub-Department under the Nghe An provincial Customs Department.

During the four-month long course, the trainees will be instructed by troops of the Border Post of Nam Can International Border Gate.

The course aims to improve proficiency, ability to use and communicate in the Lao language among troops stationed in the areas, contributing to safeguarding the national sovereignty and border security, building a strong whole people’s border guard posture, and promoting solidarity and friendship between the people on both sides of the shared borderline.

Instructors are officers of Lai Hoa Border Post.

Earlier, on July 26, Lai Hoa Border Post under the Soc Trang provincial Border Guard Command, in coordination with Prey Chop Pagoda, opened a Khmer language course for border troops and students in Lai Hoa commune, Vinh Chau town, Soc Trang province.

The course is attended by 32 students in the area, and 20 troops of Lai Hoa Border Post. The students are divided into two classes with 68 teaching contents.

During the one-month long course, the trainees will practice listening and communicating skills of the language. They are taught by military officers who master the Khmer language.

Meanwhile, the organizing board of the course coordinates with the Education and Training Department of Vinh Chau town and Prey Chop Pagoda to teach officers and soldiers at the post.
