At a nearby place, another group of recruits was practicing shooting. The sound of gun barrels and hammers hitting firing pins together with commanding offers’ orders created a lively training atmosphere.
Talking with us, Private Duong Phuc Hieu, a recruit of Platoon 11, Company 4, Battalion 4, said that since the “three-explosions” (rifle shooting, grenade throwing, and explosive charging) test is around the corner, they have to keep intensive practice. “Despite difficulties and hardships, I promise to train hard to obtain good results in all contents, including the ‘three-explosives’ test,” said Hieu.
At Battalion 3 of Regiment 1, observing gunners practicing targeting using DKZ recoilless guns, we were impressed with their swift and accurate movements and close and harmonious coordination.

Major Nguyen Tuan Anh, Commanding Officer of Battalion 3, said that together with strictly observing combat readiness regulations, the unit pays attention to raising troops’ skills of using and mastering weapons and military equipment, practicing combat readiness scenarios, and keeping troops on the standby to undertake and successfully complete assigned missions.
The lively emulation atmosphere was also recorded in other agencies and units of Division 324. Colonel Pham Le Tuan, Second-in-Command and Chief of Staff of Division 324, said that to build up troops’ determination to fulfill all training and combat readiness missions, the division has focused on education work. It has launched emulation movements with detailed contents and targets and required all groups and individuals to sign commitment.
The unit has also renewed training contents to comprehensively enhance the training quality, attached importance to comprehensive and intensive training, and organized military games to ignite emulation spirit.

Apart from investing in building training grounds and models, the division has encouraged officers and troops to develop initiatives and technical innovations to raise training quality. The unit has well combined training and political education, regularity building and discipline observance.
In addition, the unit has paid attention to troops’ material and spiritual life. Thanks to that, all of them feel secure to work and train to thoroughly grasp training contents while ensuing absolute safety.
