According to the Director of the Department of Electronic Warfare Lieutenant General Pham Huy Dung, last year the department thoroughly embraced and strictly carried out resolutions and directives of the Central Military Commission, the Ministry of National Defense and the General Staff on military and defense missions. It actively made recommendation to leaders of the Ministry of National Defense and the General Staff to effectively direct the task implementation of the electronic warfare force.
He added that the electronic warfare force strictly observed combat readiness regulations, closely followed situation on cyberspace, and effectively worked with other forces to ensure security at important political events of the country and fulfill other unexpected missions.
Amid the complicated developments of the COVID-19 pandemic, units and agencies under the department adjusted their training plans in line with pandemic prevention and control regulations. They effectively organized training courses and exercises while paying attention to renewing training forms and methods to complete training programs as scheduled.
In the year, the department actively applied technologies to extending the lifespan of electronic warfare equipment and conducted various research projects on military art and military science and technology in line with the electronic warfare building and development orientations.
This year, the Department of Electronic Warfare will focus on building comprehensively strong and exemplary unit and strictly observing regulations and discipline, toward turning the electronic warfare into revolutionary, regular, elite, gradually modernized force
Under the direct instruction of the department, the electronic warfare agencies and units in the whole military will pay attention to raising personnel’s ability of mastering weapons and equipment, conducting scientific research, and developing and testing new electronic warfare equipment to meet requirements of the force building.
Emphasizing the important role of the electronic warfare force in the implementation of military and defense missions, the deputy defense minister asked the department to pay attention to giving strategic advice to higher levels, building human force, and developing training plans to raise its personnel’s professionalism and experience to meet requirements of missions in the new period.
