PANO - The Electronic Warfare Department of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army held a congress October 24 to review the implementation of its “Determined to Win” emulation movement from 2013 to 2018 and receive the first-class Fatherland Protection Order.
Over the past five years, the implementation of the “Determined to win” emulation movement has gained outstanding results. Particularly, the department has well performed its function as a think-tank for the Central Military Commission, the Ministry of National Defense and the General Staff to organize electronic warfare activities in the right direction. Furthermore, its training work saw positive changes, especially in foreign language training and new weapons mastering.
With its notable achievements, the unit was honored with many noble rewards by the Party, State and Army.
Having congratulated the department’s considerable achievements, Deputy Chief of the General Staff Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Phuong Nam asked the unit to promote the implementation of the emulation-reward work and the “Determined to win” emulation movement in the time to come.
Its affiliated agencies and units should continue grasping and seriously implementing instructions on further renewing the emulation-reward work in the army with a focus on building a revolutionary, regular, elite and modern force. The unit should also augment training quality, master modern weapons and equipment and raise troops’ material and cultural lives.
General Nam also encouraged more technical initiatives and models from the unit’s troops.
At the congress, the Electronic Warfare Department received the first-class Fatherland Protection Order and certificate of merit of the General Staff. The department also conferred certificates of merit on its 8 groups and 17 individuals.
