Defense mission works with Song Thu Corporation

Song Thu Corporation's representative briefs the working delegation of the business's task performance.

At the working session, Sr. Lt. Gen. Nguyen Van Nghia and the working delegation were briefed on the business’s task performance in the 2018-2022 period, its production outcomes in the first six months of this year, and its implementation of assigned projects.

The delivered reports revealed that Song Thu Corporation has successfully completed production and defense missions. In particular, in the 2018-2022 period, the business built and handed over 17 new defense products and 23 economic ones; repaired more than 250 ships. In the first half of this year, the unit has built five new defense products and 12 economic products for domestic and foreign partners; completed the maintenance of 17 out of 20 economic products of different kinds. Its production value is estimated at over VND 236 billion, its workers’ average income is VND 10 million/capita/month.

At the event, delegates also pointed out difficulties confronting the business, including investment capital, debt payment, and seeking of new contracts.

Concluding the working session, Gen. Nghia acknowledged achievements obtained by Song Thu Corporation over the past years and asked its leadership to foster the production in combination with defense mission. The deputy chief of the General Staff asked the business to pro-actively propose measures to the Central Military Commission and leaders of the Ministry of National Defense to address difficulties and challenges, thus facilitating the development of military businesses in general and Song Thu Corporation in particular and ensuring stable jobs and high income for workers in the coming time.
