Senior Lieutenant General Phan Van Giang, Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army and Deputy Defense Minister, attended and delivered a speech at the event.
According to a report by Lieutenant General Tran Huu Phuc, Director of the Department of Military School Management under the General Staff at the ceremony, the academic records made by military graduates have significantly improved over the past year thanks to the innovation of teaching methods and the sound judgment of schools and academies in the entire military.

Particularly, nearly 10% of the graduates this year finished their courses with excellent academic grades, more than 5,000 graduates were admitted to the Communist Party of Vietnam, and thousands were rewarded with prizes at various levels.
Notably, among 83 awardees this time are 28 winners of the National-level Olympiad competitions. These achievements reflected the sound leadership of the Central Military Commission, Ministry of National Defense, and the remarkable efforts of military schools and academies.
On behalf of the ministry’s leadership, General Giang awarded the Defense Minister’s certificates of merit to the outstanding military graduates. He also praised the efforts made by instructors and school and academy personnel in the entirety of the military. In addition, General Giang asked the awardees to continue to promote their achievements and to fulfill their upcoming assigned tasks.
The general also requested relevant agencies of the Ministry of National Defense to improve their advisory task and direct the improved quality of training at schools and academies to meet the requirements of building a revolutionary, regular, elite and gradually modernized military.
He urged units receiving new graduates to create favorable conditions for them to quickly grasp the units’ situations, apply their knowledge to reality, and contribute to the units’ development as soon as possible.
