Reportedly, the Vietnam Coast Guard Command has directed its affiliated units to maintain combat readiness, grasp all situations at sea, and provide timely recommendations for the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense to deal with unexpected issues.

The coast guards have collaborated well with other forces in safeguarding the national security, ensuring order and safety for maritime economic activities, and preventing illegal entry and exit via sea routes. In addition, they have conducted search and rescue missions, supported natural disaster-hit people and took part in the COVID-19 prevention and control.

Addressing the event, General Giang spoke highly of the coast guards’ efforts over the past time. He urged them to review shortcomings in the previous tenure and build concrete plans for 2022.
