Later the same day, General Phan Van Giang worked with representatives of the Army Officer Candidate School No.1.
Briefed on the school’s task performance in 2021 as well as its key missions in 2022, Defense Minister Phan Van Giang acknowledged and congratulated the school on its achievements over the past time and expected that the unit will effectively bring into play the obtained results and complete all assigned missions. The Army Officer Candidate Training School No.1 is a school rich in traditions. Founded before the August Revolution, the school had the honor to receive President Ho Chi Minh nine times. In 1946, Uncle Ho attended the school’s opening ceremony of academic year and presented the school with a flag embroidered with golden words, “Loyal to the nation, pious to the people.” For its achievements over the past year, the school has been honored with many noble orders, including the title of the Hero of the People’s Armed Forces.
Since the current national protection mission is posing new requirements for education and training, the defense minister said that the school’s researches and education and training programs and methods should be in line with reality and put learners at the center of training, so as to comprehensively develop their capability to meet all task requirements.
