Defense Minister chairs meeting of CMC’s Standing Board
PANO - Defense Minister General Phan Van Giang, on April 16 in Hanoi, chaired a conference of the Standing Board of the Central Military Commission (CMC) to discuss some main issues in the military.
The conference was attended by Chief of the General Department of Political Affairs General Luong Cuong, Chief of the General Staff and Deputy Defense Minister Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Tan Cuong.

Accordingly, the CMC’s Standing Board listened to reports and commented on the draft Circular on the positions of field-grade and company-grade officers of Vietnam People’s Army officers.
Addressing the conference, General Giang requested that the circular building work must be in line with the Party’s guidelines, and State’s laws and policies, as well as personnel work in the military. It should be based on the reality and task requirements and the mission of building a revolutionary, regular, and elite military, while addressing shortcomings in the position systems and salary, creating favorable conditions to attract high-quality human resource to serve the military.
Addressing the conference, the CMC’s Standing Board discussed the plans to repair, renovate and upgrade barracks; reviewed and made recommendations on the building of 400 houses in communes, wards and border townlets of Lao Cai province, among others.
