Defense leader works with Chemical Corps
PANO - In the time ahead, the Chemical Corps is expected to successfully implement innovation and digital transformation initiatives in the technical sector for the 2026–2030 period and to carry out the “Digital literacy for all” campaign within the force.
The directive was issued by Deputy Defense Minister Senior Lieutenant General Le Huy Vinh during a working session with the Chemical Corps on June 20.

The defense leader also tasked the corps with continuing to effectively implement resolutions, directives, and plans aimed at improving all aspects of technical operations; taking the lead in scientific and technological research and the application of modern weapons and equipment; and placing special emphasis on developing and training a team of capable science and technology officers.

He further stressed the importance of making full use of existing systems and core data infrastructure developed by the Ministry of National Defense and affiliated units, particularly the digital ecosystem for logistics and technical operations, to enhance the depth, efficiency, and practical impact of technical activities.
At the session, Sr. Lt. Gen. Vinh praised the Party Committee and Chain-of-Command of the Chemical Corps for their effective counsel to the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense on force organization, training, combat readiness, and the deployment of chemical units across the military. He also acknowledged their efforts in implementing higher-level directives, resolutions, and guidelines on technical work and digital transformation in ways tailored to the Corps’ mission and operational context.

Before the working session, the defense leader conducted an inspection of Brigade 86, where he assessed that the unit had comprehensively fulfilled its tasks and provided effective technical support for training and combat readiness missions. The delegation was also briefed on the corps’ execution of technical work, emulation drives, and digital transformation efforts.
