At the ceremony, Gen. Nghia praised the unit for its recent attainments and requested its Party Committee, commanders and troops to thoroughly grasp the Party’s military and defense guidelines and higher-level directives on training. He urged the unit to conduct training in close alignment with combat realities and operational subjects, and assigned weapons and equipment and to increase application of technology, as well as to organize absolutely safe and effective exercises and competitions.

Gen. Nghia also directed Division 5 to enhance Party and political work, strengthen education and discipline management, build a healthy military cultural environment, ensure troops’ material and spiritual life, implement policies for troops’ families effectively, and actively support local socio-economic development, disaster response and grassroots political system building.

The same day in Tay Ninh province, Gen. Nghia visited and congratulated the Provincial Border Guard Command on the 67th founding anniversary of the Border Guard Force (March 3, 1959 - 2026) and the 37th anniversary of the Whole People’s Border Guard Day (March 3, 1989 - 2026).

Hailing the local border guard force for their achievements over the past time, Gen. Nghia asked them to continue to keep a close watch on situational developments, proactively give suggestions to handle contingencies in an effective manner, safeguard territorial sovereignty and border security, and help build a border of peace, friendship, cooperation and development.

Also on March 2, as head of Inspection and Supervision Delegation No.19 of the Politburo and the Secretariat of the Party Central Committee, Gen. Nghia chaired a conference announcing the inspection and supervision decision 2026 for the Standing Board of the Tay Ninh Provincial Party Committee. The delegation will oversee the provincial Party Committee’s implementation of the Resolution of the 14th National Party Congress and relevant Politburo directives on leading the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly (N.A.) and people’s councils at all levels for the 2026 - 2031 term.

Gen. Nghia asked for strict compliance with Party principles and procedures, ensuring objectivity, accuracy and timeliness.

On this occasion, Gen. Nghia attended a meeting with voters of the Electoral Unit No.3-Tay Ninh province to campaign for the 16th N.A. election. He briefed voters on the outcomes of the 14th National Party Congress, national socio-economic achievements and the N.A.’s role in sustainable development, and presented his action program. Voters expressed confidence in his qualifications and expectations for his continued contributions if elected.
