According to a report delivered at the working session, since its foundation, Army Corps 16 has allocated residential land and production land and provided financial support to build houses for more than 1,600 households; planted more than 5,400 hectares of different trees; invested in the construction of 189km of roads, 53 lakes and dams, 86km of power lines; built 84 classes for kindergartens and primary schools; offered free health check-ups and medicines to local people; and built memorial steles, cultural houses, and gratitude houses, among others.

Concluding the working session, Sr. Lt. Gen. Vu Hai San praised Army Corps 16’s efforts in task performance, especially in social security and care for ethnic minority people, contributing to building a more stable and developed border area.

In the time to come, the unit should focus on building a clean and strong Party organization; effectively implementing military-defense tasks; and maintaining military discipline and regulations, particularly combat readiness posture, to name but a few.

Meanwhile, Army Corps 16 should require its agencies and units to promote training activities and exercises on natural disaster prevention and search and rescue work; pay more attention to taking care of troops’ spiritual and material life; and closely collaborate with local authorities to effectively carry out mass mobilization work, thereby consolidating the firm people's heart posture, etc.
