The 100 sq.m house was completed after more than two months of construction. Army Corps 16 contributed VND 80 million to the building of this house and sent personnel to observe the construction.

At the handover ceremony, representatives from the army corps, chain-of-command of Regiment 720, and local organizations presented Thang’s family with other necessities.

According to Deputy Head of the Political Department of Army Corps 16 Senior Colonel Lai Van Tuan, the corps has over the past time mobilized resources to donate dozens of billion Vietnamese dong and hundreds of working days to build 185 great unity houses for poor compatriots, and give financial support to 1,700 laborers to build houses. It has also completed projects on wet rice and rural roads, helping to improve the living standard of ethnic minority groups in the locality where it is stationed.

This year alone, the Army Corps 16 Command has studied and given VND 560 million to help build seven comradeship and trade union houses for its cadres, workers with housing difficulties. These gifts have been a source of encouragement for the recipients to actively continue their work and production, engage in the cause of national defense and security building and consolidation in the Southern Central Highlands.
