The delegation was attended by leaders of the Vietnam Border Guard Command, the Military Region 1 Command, and the Office of the Ministry of National Defense.

During the visits to the provincial Military Command, Public Security Department and Border Guard Command, Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien was briefed on the units’ task performance, the political security, the social order and safety at border gates and in border areas, as well as the collaboration among them in implementing regular and arising missions in the locality.

Speaking at the working sessions with the units’ leadership, General Chien highly valued outcomes of the units over the past time. He required the units’ leadership to continue to grasp all situations, collaborate with relevant forces, provide timely advice for the local authority to well implement defense-military missions, contributing to dealing with unexpected issues and maintaining combat readiness under any circumstances, especially during the Tet festival.

He noted that the units should prepare combat readiness plan for the Tet holidays, ensure welfare for discharged soldiers and build concrete plan for the 2023 recruitment drive. The deputy defense minister asked the Lang Son Provincial Border Guard Command to closely coordinate with relevant forces and localities to well perform patrol, control and protection of the national border while effectively preventing people from illegal entry and exit, contributing to maintaining political security, social order and safety in border areas.
