Speaking at the ceremony, Senior Colonel Ngo Anh Thu affirmed that along with performing political tasks as the organ of the Central Military Commission and Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense and the voice of the armed forces and people, over the past years, the People’s Army Newspaper has actively conducted social activities to help needy people across the country.

During the Dien Bien Phu Campaign, the PAN formed its front-line office and published 33 newspaper issues right on the battlefield.
Regarding the Kind Heart Foundation of Vingroup, the foundation annually coordinates with the PAN and provides financial support for the unit to present gifts to poor families on lunar New Year.
Ahead of the upcoming lunar New Year 2023, the PAN and the Kind Heart Foundation have worked together to hand over 1,500 Tet gifts, worth VND 900 million in total, to needy households in Dien Bien district (Dien Bien), Tam Duong and Tan Uyen districts (Lai Chau), Dong Van district (Ha Giang), Kim Bang district (Ha Nam) and Hau Loc district (Thanh Hoa).

Chairman of the Na Tong commune People’s Committee Vi Van Bien expressed his thanks to the PAN and the Kind Heart Foundation for their care for needy people in the locality. Their support has contributed to improving the quality of life of the people.
According to Bien, Na Tong is a poor commune in Dien Bien district. Over the past time, cadres and local people have obtained many benefits from programs and projects under the Party and State's policy on prioritizing the development of highlands and areas with difficult conditions. Many infrastructure works have been constructed, contributing to promoting the growth, economic restructuring, and socio-economic and cultural development as well as ensuring defense and security in the locality.

In the coming time, the Party Committee and local authorities of Na Tong commune (Dien Bien district) will focus on exploiting all available resources, potentials and advantages for integration and development while speeding up economic and agricultural restructuring.
In addition, the commune will strengthen the building of socio-economic infrastructure and increase the quality of projects in the locality, especially public investment ones.
The commune will concentrate on raising the quality of education and training, local human resources and implementing social security policies in an effective manner.
The official hoped that ethnic groups in the locality will tighten solidarity, strictly observe the Party’s guidelines and the State’s policies and laws, contributing to maintaining local political security, social order and safety.
