Accordingly, in the first three months of 2022, the work was effectively implemented as directed by the Central Military Commission and MND, via many forms amid the complicated developments of the COVID-19 pandemic. Functional units also attached importance to strengthening the organization of the external affairs sector.

Meanwhile, they also promptly made recommendations to the MND in defense relations with other countries, especially neighboring countries and great powers. In addition, bilateral and multilateral defense diplomacy has been conducted proactively, flexibly, creatively and effectively.

Regarding tasks in the second quarter of this year, the conference agreed that international integration and defense diplomacy need to be conducted in accordance with the approved program of foreign affairs in 2022, in line with situations in the region and the world, while focusing on making strategic proposals, handling relationship and carrying out external activities in line with guidelines of the Party and State.

In addition, delegates at the event also underscored the importance of the implementation of Circular No.152/2021/TT-BQP issued on November 21, 2021 and Decree No.22/2016/ND-CP on defense diplomacy. Moreover, relevant units should make preparation for a conference to review this task in the period of 2016-2021, for receiving high-ranking military delegations to Vietnam as well as visiting other countries and taking part in defense diplomacy activities, lifting up the multilateral defense diplomacy, organize training and refresher courses on foreign languages for responsible officials, meeting all requirements in the current context.
