Being tasked with preventing and combating smuggling and trade fraud at sea, especially before, during and after the lunar New Year 2024, in combination with illegal, unreported, and unregulated (IUU) fishing prevention in the Vietnam - Malaysia - Thailand maritime area, troops of the Coast Guard Region 4 Command have gained many achievements.

Accordingly, the region has discovered seven cases of transporting 650,000 liters of diesel oil without legal documents; addressed three cases and confiscated nearly 130,000 liters of diesel oil, among others, contributing nearly VND 21 billion to the State budget.

Addressing the event, the Vietnam Coast Guard’s Political Commissar Lieutenant General Bui Quoc Oai hoped that the troops would raise their responsibility towards the cause of national protection and law enforcement at sea, deserving the trust of the Party, State, and people, and the functional forces of the State in law management and enforcement on the Southwestern continental shelf of the country.
