Coast Guard Region 4 and Kien Giang disseminate law to fishermen

The event was co-chaired by Political Commissar of the Coast Guard Region 4 Command Major General Nguyen Van Dung and Head of the Kien Giang provincial Party Committee’s Commission of Information and Education Nguyen Thanh Phong.

According to Gen. Phong, the coordination program between the coast guard region and the provincial Party Committee’s Commission of Information and Education will serve as a basis for the unit to renew dissemination contents and methods in 2024 and 2025 by making full use of social media platforms and artificial intelligence applications.

The Political Commissar of the Coast Guard Region 4 Command believed that with political determination and utmost efforts, the coordination program between the two units would achieve greater, more comprehensive, and more effective results, contributing to firmly protecting sovereignty and maintaining security, order, and safety in the sacred waters of the nation.

According to the coordination agreement inked by the two sides, in 2024 and 2025, the Coast Guard Region 4 Command and the Kien Giang provincial Party Committee's Information and Education Commission will focus on disseminating the Party’s guidelines and State’s policies, and cooperation agreements on protecting and developing aquatic resources and ensuring security and order in the sacred waters of the nation that Vietnam has signed with other countries; updating each other on sea and islands-related information and activities and achievements of the Coast Guard Region 4 Command; mobilizing fishermen to strictly observe fishing regulations, especially those related to illegal, unreported, and unregulated (IUU) fishing.

On this occasion, the Coast Guard Region 4 Command and the Kien Giang provincial Party Committee's Information and Education Commission distributed leaflets with legal information and presented 200 national flags and 10 gifts to fishermen in Chau Thanh district, Kien Giang province.
