During the conference, delegates gave comments on the draft Law on amendments and supplements to a number of articles of the Law on Officers.

Accordingly, the current Law on Officers has been implemented by the CMC, the Ministry of National Defense (MND), Party committees, chains-of-command of agencies and units in the whole military in a strict and comprehensive manner.

The Law on Officers has created a legal basis for building a strong contingent of VPA officers, serving as the core force in the building of a revolutionary, regular, elite, gradually modernized military; successfully completing all assigned tasks; contributing to building the firm postures of whole-people national defense and people’s security, building and firmly protecting the socialist Fatherland of Vietnam.

Currently, the MND is drawing up the draft Law on amendments and supplements to a number of articles of the Law on Officers as regulated and it is expected to be submitted to the National Assembly for comments and approval at the 8th session.

In his remarks, General Phan Van Giang applauded functional agencies for their responsibility and pro-active coordination in finalizing contents and related documents to develop the draft Law.

The defense minister required MND’s functional agencies to heighten their responsibility to raise the quality and efficiency of the Law on amendments and supplements to a number of articles of the Law on Officers, ensuring that arising issues would be addressed.

Meanwhile, they should strengthen coordination to promptly build and complete decrees and circulars in line with the amendments and supplements of the law.

Also at the event, the CMC’s Standing Board reviewed and decided on a number of other important contents.
