PANO - The Ministry of Information and Communications on December 16th in Hanoi presented nearly 3,000 tear-off calendars to units under the Border Guard Command and the Navy.

Addressing the presentation ceremony, Minister Nguyen Bac Son said that the calendars are gifts from publishing houses and units in charge of producing calendars to units protecting national sovereignty over borders, sea and islands.

On behalf of the recipients, Rear Admiral Nguyen Ngoc Tuong and Colonel Phuong Minh Quang, deputy political head of the Border Guard Command, thanked the donors for their meaningful gifts before the coming Lunar New Year.

Rear Admiral Nguyen Ngoc Tuong said that the gifts, introducing Vietnam and its people, would help troops be more aware of their responsibilities and missions of national protection.

On the occasion, Minister Nguyen Bac Son gave the two units a photo of “General Le Duc Anh, Politburo member and Minister of National Defence, delivering a speech at the 33rd founding anniversary of the Navy (May 7th, 1955) on Truong Sa Lon Island of Truong Sa Island District, Khanh Hoa Province”.
