PANO – The Viettel Lam Dong presented 39 breeding cattle, worth VND 585 million, to disadvantaged households on June 23rd in Dam Rong district, Lam Dong province.

This activity was part of the program “Breeding cows help the poor in border areas” initiated by the Military Telecom Corporation (Viettel).

According to Lieutenant Colonel Le Dinh Thanh, head of Viettel Lam Dong, after three years, the unit donated eight times or 196 breeding cattle, worth more than VND 2.7 billion, to locals in Dam Rong district. As part of the program’s activities, Viettel Lam Dong also offered 126 mobile phones to locals to help them care for their cattle.

Over the past years, Viettel Lam Dong also presented 140 scholarships, worth VND 140 million to needy students, and provided free internet services for schools in Dam Rong district.

On behalf of the authorities and locals, Lieng Hot Ha Hai, Vice Chairman of the Dam Rong People’s Committee, thanked the Military Telecom Corporation and Viettel Lam Dong for their meaningful assistance. Local authorities and people promised to take good care of and expand the number of cattle in order to develop the local household economy and reduce poverty as well as improve their lives.
