Concluding the meeting, General Chien requested the Vietnam Border Guard Command, in coordination with other forces, to promote measures to control illegal border crossings and prevent trans-border spread of the COVID-19 pandemic in the current context.
In addition, they should strictly guard border gates and openings while thoroughly grasping regional situations so as to be ready for any circumstances.
He also asked the unit to set up more checkpoints in border areas and closely work with neighboring country’s border guard forces in the fight against COVID-19.
They should also implement Party and political work and encourage troops to overcome difficulties in their task performances, contributing to protecting national border sovereignty and preventing illegal border crossings.
Meanwhile, the border troops should disseminate information about military activities in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, stressed General Chien.
