Talking about the results and significance of Vietnam’s participation in MILAN 2024 in India and visit to Malaysia, Senior Captain Doan Bao Anh noted that, Frigate 20 and the Vietnamese naval delegation excellently accomplished all task requirements during the mission. Especially, in the framework of MILAN 2024, Frigate 20 joined all contents of the exercise as well as activities on the sidelines of the program, and strictly followed defense external regulations, regulations on ensuring political security, with absolute safety in all fields.
The frigate’s journey contributed to affirming and heightening the position of the VPN, promoting mutual trust and understanding between the Vietnam People’s Army and VPN and other militaries and naval forces, and spreading the image of the friendly Vietnamese country and military among international friends.
According to Senior Captain Doan Bao Anh, Frigate 20 crossed the total distance of nearly 6,000 nautical miles, proving its capability in long naval journey. To do so, they mapped out plans and made thorough preparations so that the frigate could safely operate at sea within a long period of time. Besides, they also organized training and promoted leadership among sailors during the journey, especially in harsh weather conditions.

In addition, Vietnamese naval troops closely coordinated with the host country and other participants to finish all contents of the exercise with absolute safety. During conferences, seminars, and workshops in the framework of the exercise, the Vietnamese delegates showed their foreign language capability, frankly shared their opinions as regulated, leaving good impressions on the host and participating countries.
Regarding lessons learned from the journey, Senior Captain Doan Bao Anh underscored that this was a good occasion for the naval troops. They understood the importance of international cooperation, multilateral activities, and international naval exercises.
MILAN 2024 drew the participation of naval forces from various countries. It was an opportunity for the Naval Region 3 to have more experience in leadership and organizing exercises from the host India.
Furthermore, the Vietnamese naval force took the occasion to promote training and raise foreign language proficiency.
