Defense Minister General Phan Van Giang attended the event. In his remarks, General Phan Van Giang praised the achievements and feats-of-arm obtained by generations of officers, staff, and soldiers of the vehicle and machinery sector in the military, underlining that, with the outstanding outcomes, the department was honored with President Ho Chi Minh’s flag with 16 golden words and noble orders by the Party, State and Ministry of National Defense (MND).

In the time to come, General Giang required the department to continue to strictly implement the Party, State, Central Military Commission (CMC), MND’s military and defense policies; proactively grasp and forecast the situation, and then give advice to the CMC and MND, directly the General Department of Logistics and Technical Services, on effectively performing state management functions on military vehicle and transportation affairs.
The department should proactively give recommendations to higher levels on purchasing, transferring, manufacturing, improving, and innovating technical equipment and vehicles in a modern direction, meeting the task requirements of each force, while flexibly applying a variety of methods and forms of transportation, combining the use of military means of transportation with the exploitation and mobilization of means of transportation of the national economy to improve transportation capacity, meeting the requirements of military building in the new situation.
Also, the department should promote administrative reform in connection with digital transformation to address issues related to the exploitation, management, use, and maintenance of equipment and vehicles, especially new-generation vehicles, machinery, and military ship transportation operations, among others.
