The border guard team participating in the earthquake relief mission in Venezuela includes 10 personnel and eight service dogs.

The deployment follows directives from the Ministry of National Defense and the General Staff to prepare personnel and equipment for the humanitarian mission. In recent weeks, the Border Guard has worked closely with relevant agencies to assemble the necessary manpower, specialized equipment, logistics, and technical support for the mission.

The deployed team comprises 10 personnel, accompanied by eight service dogs and specialized rescue equipment. All team members have experience in international SAR operations and have completed medical examinations, travel documentation, mission preparations, and logistical requirements.

Addressing the ceremony, Major General Nguyen Duc Manh, Deputy Commander of the Vietnam Border Guard Command, praised the Staff, the Department of Political Affairs, the Department of Logistics and Technical Services, Border Guard School No.24, and other participating agencies and units for completing preparations on schedule. 

He instructed the team to strictly carry out its assigned mission, comply with military discipline and the laws of the host country, maintain unity and close coordination, overcome operational challenges, and ensure the safety of personnel, equipment, and service dogs throughout the deployment. He also emphasized close cooperation with Vietnamese and international forces to successfully conduct SAR operations, reaffirming Vietnam's commitment to the international community.

Following the ceremony, the team will report to the Ministry of National Defense for its final mission briefing before departing from Noi Bai International Airport for Venezuela. The mission is expected to last about 20 days, with the possibility of an extension depending on operational requirements.
