On the day, the Vietnamese naval officers and cadets visited the Malaysian Navy’s Simulation Training Center in Lumut. On the occasion, Commander of Malaysian Naval Education and Training Command Rear Admiral Dato Anuar bin Mohamed warmly received Naval Senior Captain Huynh Vinh Tuyen, head of the Vietnamese delegation. The event also saw the attendance of Vietnamese Defense Attaché in Malaysia Senior Colonel Ngo Ngoc Thang.
At the meeting, the two sides expressed delight at the fruitful outcomes of cooperation between their naval forces and affirmed that the visit of Sailing Ship 286-Le Quy Don to Malaysia is an opportunity for the Vietnamese and Malaysian navies to strengthen cooperation and exchange experience in training.
They agreed that the two navies should strengthen their collaboration, especially within the framework of cooperation among the navies of ASEAN countries and bilateral ties to jointly respond to common security challenges at sea for peace, cooperation, stability, and development in the region and the world.
Rear Admiral Dato Anuar bin Mohamed hoped that the two navies would further promote the exchange of delegations at all levels, especially the visits of naval ships. He hoped that in the near future, ships of the Malaysian Navy will have the opportunity to visit Vietnam to foster solidarity, friendship, and exchange between the two navies.
Later the same day, the delegation of the Vietnam People's Navy held a banquet on Sailing Ship 286-Le Quy Don. Rear Admiral Dato Anuar bin Mohamed and his spouse and Malaysian commanders and officers attended this special party. At the event, Vietnamese unique traditional dishes and musical performances by the naval art troupe left good impressions on the guests.
Speaking at the party, Naval Senior Captain Huynh Vinh Tuyen thanked the Malaysian Navy for the thoughtful reception for the Vietnamese naval officers and cadets aboard Sailing Ship 286-Le Quy Don. He hoped that mutual visits by naval ships of the two countries will be carried out regularly and truly become a bridge of bilateral friendship.
