After Exercise 8 of the “Individual Test” competition, the Vietnamese sniper team ranked fourth. The Belarusian team ranks first while the second and third positions belong to the Uzbekistani and Russian teams respectively.
The Vietnamese snipers will take part in the "Pair test" competition on August 28.
* The same day, the Chemical team of the Vietnam People’s Army (VPA) entered the second round (the shooting test) of the “Safe Environment” event at the Pesochnoe training ground in Kostroma, Russia.
This year’s shooting test consists of three stages, namely “Alarm,” “Ambush,” and “Shooting in combat.” Notably, if participants fire at hostage targets or miss any shots, their points will be deducted heavily. The shooting test is more difficult for participants since they have to run while wearing respirators. The participants have to use new AK-12 Russian assault rifles during the test, a slight difference from AK-47 rifles.
The rainy weather is unfavorable for all participants. Therefore, Vietnamese snipers did not perform well and only rank fourth after the Belarusian, Uzbekistan and Armenian teams.
The rainy weather also affected the Vietnamese service dog training team in the obstacle crossing test, but fortunately, they have completed the competition.
Colonel General Alexander Vasilyevich Fomin, Russian Deputy Minister of Defense, witnessed the competition and awarded Medals of Honor to representatives of the participating teams.
Vietnamese non-commissioned officer Senior Lieutenant Nguyen Trong Nghia, a member of the Vietnamese service dog training team, was honored with the medal.
