Vietnamese artillery team ranks third
The first stage named “Individual race” of the “Master of Artillery Fire” contest took place on August 25 at a training ground in Saratov city, Russia. The Vietnamese artillery team started the event with a competitive spirit and cheers from Vietnamese supporters. With good preparations, the Vietnamese artillerymen annihilated all three targets in 15 minutes and 9 seconds. They ranked third after the Russian and Belarusian teams.

Vietnamese sweet voices on Russian stage
Also on August 25, ten art troupes from Abkhazia, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Vietnam, Myanmar, Kazakhstan, Serbia, Uzbekistan, and South Sudan competed in an art competition in the framework of the Ethnic Cultural Festival themed “Friendship without borders” in the Army Games 2020.
In this competition at the Cultural House of the Russian Armed Forces, according to Colonel Dang My Hanh, head of the Vietnamese art troupe, three Vietnamese artists will perform seven art items. The Vietnamese art troupe is among several troupes showing their talent in singing, dancing, and playing musical instruments.
The result of the competition will be announced by the organizers at the closing ceremony of the Army Games 2020.
Vietnamese snipers confident in competition
On the second day of the “Individual Test” competition, the Vietnamese snipers performed four other exercises, specifically “leapfrogging”, “pyramid”, “sniper in offense”, and “sniper in defense”.
In Ex. 4, each sniper shot ten rounds at a metal target from five distances of 300m, 400m, 500m, 600m, and 700m. The Vietnamese sniper team ranked fifth among seven participating teams while sniper Captain Phan Chu Trinh ranked 8th among 28 participating snipers.
In Ex. 5, each competitor shot five rounds at targets 7, 6, 5, and 5A. The Vietnamese team ranked fourth while sniper Captains Phan Chu Trinh and Nguyen Dinh Hoa ranked fifth and sixth among 28 snipers.
The Vietnamese sniper team was also placed fourth in Ex. 6, named “sniper in the offense”.
After six out of nine exercises, the Vietnamese team was in the middle of the six teams competing for points. The Belarusian team ranked first, followed by Uzbekistani, Russian, Armenian, Serbian, and Tajikistani teams.
On the evening of August 25 (Belarus time), the Vietnamese sniper team competed in the “sniper in defense” exercise. On August 26, they joined exercises 8 and 9 named “shooting gradually rising targets” and “shooting from an uncomfortable position,” respectively.
* The same day, doctors and junior medical staff and armored vehicle drivers of the Vietnamese military medical team entered the firing exercises with K59 pistols and AK74 assault rifles in the first stage of the “Individual skill” exercise of the “Military Medical Relay” contest.
Despite mist and strong winds hindering their sight, Vietnamese competitors tried their best to complete the shooting exercises with good results. Doctor Nguyen The Phong ranked fifth among ten participating doctors while First Lieutenant Nguyen Chi Khanh placed eighth among 21 participating junior medical personnel. First Lieutenant Dang Van Minh ranked first among twelve participating armored vehicle drivers.
* The Vietnamese Field Kitchen team ranked fifth in the cooking competition at the Alabino training grounds on the outskirts of Moscow, Russia.
On August 26, Vietnamese bakers will bake bakery products.
* Also on August 25, Lieutenant General Ngo Minh Tien, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army, visited and encouraged the Vietnamese service dog training and search and rescue teams participating in the Army Games 2020.
General Tien affirmed that he believes all 11 search and rescue team members from the Zhukovsky-Gagarin Air Force Academy will exert all-out efforts to achieve the highest possible results in the games.
In a visit to the service dog training team at Training Center 470 in Dmitrov city, General Tien encouraged them to overcome difficulties and make good preparations for the competitions and gain experience from other competitors.
