Nam Can Border Post establishes twinning ties with Lao Border Guard unit
PANO - Nam Can Border Post under the Nghe An Provincial Border Guard Command and Border Guard Company 224 under Xiangkhouang Provincial Military Command of Laos, signed a twinning agreement on August 20 in Na Ngoi commune, Nghe An Province.

Senior Colonel Nguyen Cong Luc, Deputy Commander of the Nghe An Provincial Military Command and Commander of the provincial Border Guard Command, and Lieutenant Colonel Khamphan Chanlasone, Deputy Chief of Office of the Xiangkhouang Provincial Military Command, together with representatives from local authorities, border guard officers and soldiers, and residents from both sides of the Vietnam - Laos border, attended the ceremony.

According to the agreement, the two units will enhance coordination in border management and protection; maintain regular meetings, information sharing, and joint patrols; and encourage local communities on both sides to comply with border agreements and regulations. They will also coordinate in crime prevention, search and rescue operations, disease control, and the repatriation of violators in accordance with the law. In addition, both sides agreed to organize cultural and sports exchanges and share experience in building strong, comprehensive units.
