Vietnamese snipers before the competition |
The Vietnamese snipers competed in three contents, namely Qualification (Exercise 1), Shooting test (Exercise 2), and Snipers in defense (Exercise 3).
In Ex.1, the Vietnamese sniper team gained 2,663 points, ranking fifth among seven participating teams. In Exercise 2, they finished with 286 points, ranking third among seven participating teams, right after the Uzbekistani (300 points) and Belarusian (362 points) teams.
Non-commissioned office Senior Lieutenant Nguyen Ngoc Chien was the best Vietnamese sniper with 224 points in Ex.1 while his comrade Captain Phan Chu Trinh gained 89 out of 100 points, ranking third among 20 competitors in Ex. 2.
In the afternoon of the same day, Vietnamese snipers competed in Ex.3 and stood at the fourth position. The Vietnamese team finished with the same total point as the Russian team but they needed more time than their Russian counterparts (52.72 seconds compared to 34.5 seconds).
* The Vietnamese competitors in the “Field Kitchen” competition also performed well in the AK-74 shooting tests on August 24. Each competitor had to shoot three rounds at a distance of 100m.
The Vietnamese military chefs gained 100 points, ranking behind the Belarusian and Russian teams.
On August 25, they will also take part in the cooking contest, which will last four hours.
* The Vietnamese service dog training team completed their first competition on August 24. During the games, they had a strong performance and did not violate any regulations while ensuring absolute safety. Overall, the Vietnamese team ranked fifth among the participating teams. It is considered an encouraging achievement of the team in their first participation to Army Games.
