Gifts presented to students |
As part of this CIMIC (Civil–Military Cooperation) program, the L2FH donated practical and meaningful gifts to the school to support its teaching and learning activities. The hospital also organized sports and cultural exchanges with 200 teachers and students, and carried out repairs and restoration of the school’s volleyball court.
On this occasion, Vietnamese blue berets introduced the history of Vietnamese Teachers’ Day (November 20) and the Vietnamese tradition of respecting teachers to local people.
The teachers and students were visibly joyful as they received the gifts from the hospital personnel. Their happiness doubled when the once dilapidated volleyball court, with its worn-out posts and torn net, was restored to near-new condition. Brand-new nets and volleyballs brought from Vietnam replaced the old ones that had been used for many years.

Amidst the laughter of the students, Vietnam’s peacekeepers meticulously repaired every detail of the volleyball court, ensuring that children have a safer space for recreation and learning. Witnessing the children’s rare but heartfelt moments of joy has further strengthened the motivation and spirit of Vietnam’s blue berets as they carry out their noble peacekeeping mission.
Teacher Abraham Gatwech, representing the school, expressed deep gratitude for the companionship and assistance from Vietnam’s L2FH Rotation 7. “Every act of support from you adds to our efforts to help our female students achieve their dreams and lead better lives,” he said.

Although Bentiu Primary School Girls has recently received considerable assistance from international organizations, the mission, and the Unity Sub-region in improving its facilities, ensuring regular and adequate school supplies remains a major challenge. Therefore, the nearly 200 gifts, 50 for teachers, more than 100 for students, along with many educational tools, stationery items, and learning materials, provided by the hospital were extremely timely.
During the CIMIC activity, hospital members joined teachers and students in friendly volleyball matches and played jumping rope, shuttlecock kicking, and coloring activities.

He noted the students’ happiness in receiving meaningful gifts and participating in fun activities, and expressed hope that Vietnam’s L2FH would return with more activities like these in the future.
