Royal Australian Navy ship visits Da Nang
PANO - On March 28, the HMAS Toowoomba, a guided-missile frigate of the Royal Australian Navy, commanded by Commander Alicia Harrison, with 200 officers and crew members aboard, docked at Tien Sa Port, starting its four-day visit to Da Nang city.

Attending the welcoming ceremony at Tien Sa Port were representatives of the Da Nang Municipal People’s Committee, Military Region 5, Naval Region 3 Commands, the Department of External Relations, and other functional agencies of the Ministry of National Defense of Vietnam.
On the Australian side were the Ambassador, the Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City, and the Defense Attaché.
During the visit, the ship’s command group will pay courtesy calls on leaders of the Da Nang Municipal People’s Committee and the Naval Region 3 Command, visit some local landmarks and scenic sites, and participate in cultural and sports exchanges. Notably, they will conduct joint training at sea with their peers from the Naval Service of Vietnam.

This visit by the HMAS Toowoomba contributes to strengthening friendship and cooperation between the two countries and their militaries, in line with the Vietnam - Australia comprehensive strategic partnership, while also promoting exchanges and engagements between the two navies.
