Over the past time, the bilateral defense relations between Vietnam and Myanmar have been promoted in many fields, especially after Senior General Min Aung Hlaing‘s official visit to Vietnam in March 2017 and seven months later the official visit to Myanmar by General Ngo Xuan Lich, the Vietnamese Defense Minister.
The two sides’ agencies have actively brought into full play the outcomes of these official visits in promoting delegation exchanges, young officers’ exchanges, personnel training, defense industry, and military medicine.
This time, the official visit by the Vietnamese delegation aims to continue fostering the bilateral defense ties, contributing to enhancing the relations between the two countries. The two sides are also expected to work out major measures and orientations for their cooperation mechanisms and cooperation spheres, so as to consolidate and develop the Vietnam-Myanmar multi-faceted relationship.
