PANO - On January 20, My Ly Border Post under the Nghe An provincial Border Guard Command coordinated with Border Guard Company 217 under the Houaphanh provincial Military Command of Laos to conduct a patrol along the border section from markers No.389 to No.390, which is managed and protected by the two units.

The team from My Ly Border Post was led by Lieutenant Colonel Bui Hong Manh, Deputy Political Commissar. The team from Border Guard Company 217 was headed by Captain Khamlar Sithiphone, Deputy Commander.

The patrol force conducted field inspections of the border section, markers, and border signs. At the same time, they disseminated information to residents on both sides, encouraging strict compliance with laws and regulations regarding border management and protection.

The inspection results showed that the system of border markers and the border section remains stable and intact. Security, social order, and security in the border area are well maintained, with no violations of sovereignty or border security detected. The patrol was organized strictly in accordance with foreign affairs regulations, ensuring absolute safety for personnel, weapons, and equipment.

Upon concluding the patrol, both sides exchanged relevant information, evaluated the results of recent coordination, and signed the minutes of the bilateral patrol. They also agreed on the time and content for the next patrol, contributing to maintaining a close and effective cooperation mechanism between the two units.

Lieutenant Colonel Bui Hong Manh affirmed that bilateral patrol is a regular activity of practical significance in firmly protecting territorial sovereignty and national border security. It also strengthens trust, solidarity, and friendship between armed forces and people of Vietnam and Laos, especially at a time when the entire military, people, and international friends are looking toward the 14th National Party Congress.

Meanwhile, Captain Khamlar Sithiphone emphasized that the unit’s close coordination with My Ly Border Post has contributed significantly to maintaining a stable shared border and border markers, creating favorable conditions for the socio-economic development of the two countries’ citizens.
