The event was held to celebrate the 116th anniversary of the International Women’s Day (March 8), the 1986th anniversary of the Hai Ba Trung (Trung Sisters) Uprising, and the 33rd anniversary of the Military Women Day (March 10, 1993 - 2026).

The delegation visited Nyumdou, a peaceful small village nestling under ancient mango trees. There, the hospital presented over 50 gifts to local women, 15 gifts to children, and various practical items to the community. These gifts carried the sincere affection and sharing spirit of Vietnamese servicewomen.

Besides presenting gifts, Vietnamese servicewomen spent time sharing health care knowledge, holding face-to-face talks, and telling stories about the history and tradition of Vietnamese women to local people. From the indomitable spirit of the Trung Sisters to the image of modern women, they have not only contributed to national construction and defense cause, but also actively engaged in U.N. peacekeeping missions.

A representative of local women expressed gratitude for the presence and meaningful activities of the Vietnamese delegation. She affirmed that the event brought a new vitality, encouraging local women to be more dynamic and confident.

On this occasion, Vietnamese servicewomen introduced the beauty of the traditional ao dai (long dress) to local women and children, chatting with them and capturing memorable moments together. The graceful ao dai in the distant African land not only honored cultural beauty, but also served as a symbol of peace, friendship, and connection between women from the two sides.

These simple yet meaningful moments continue to spread the image of brave and compassionate women of the Vietnam People’s Army in their journey to carry out U.N. peacekeeping missions.
