Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister General Phan Van Giang, along with his Lao counterpart General Khamliang Outhakaysone, joined cultural activities, such as "con" (cloth ball) throwing, petanque, bamboo dancing, and the traditional Lamvong dance. These activities highlighted the special solidarity and friendship between the two militaries and peoples.

The two defense leaders and delegations also toured booths showcasing local products, including clean agricultural goods, medicinal herbs, and traditional handicrafts from Vietnam’s Kim Bang and Son Lam communes (Nghe An), as well as specialties from Nam On commune (Laos).

On this occasion, General Phan Van Giang and General Khamliang Outhakaysone, along with delegates, presented breeding cows to disadvantaged households in the border communes of Kim Bang and Son Lam.

During the preliminary review ceremony, delegates heard a report on the outcomes of the twinning program between Thuy Phong and Sopteng villages. The program has focused on mutual support in socio-economic development, security maintenance, and protection of the shared borderline and border markers.

These achievements vividly reflect the solidarity and cooperation among local authorities, functional forces, and people of both countries, while affirming the practical effectiveness of the twinning model in building a Vietnam - Laos shared borderline of peace, friendship, and development.
Also at the event, the two defense ministries presented practical gifts to local people in Thuy Phong and Sopteng villages.
