The Vietnam People’s Navy’s participation in ARNEX aims to realize the outcomes obtained at the 14th ASEAN Defense Ministers’ Meeting hosted by Vietnam and show Vietnam’s support for enhancing the cooperative ties between ASEAN and Russia.
The exercise will help improve the coordination between the Vietnam People’s Navy with other participating navies in addressing maritime security issues. It will also boost the friendship, mutual understanding and trust between militaries and navies, actively contributing to building a world of peace, stability, cooperation and development.
Participating in the exercise also opens up a chance for Vietnamese crew-members to improve their synergy and combat readiness capability, and mastery of weapons and equipment during a long-day voyage, and for the Vietnam People’s Navy to accumulate experience in organizing international events to meet future demands.
The ASEAN - Russia Naval exercise, themed “Cooperation to ensure the safety of operations of marine economy and civil navigation,” will take place from December 1-3 in Indonesia’s territorial waters off the coast of North Sumatra.
