Vietnamese frigate joins ADMM-Plus Maritime Security Field Training Exercise

During the drill at sea, naval vessels of the 12 participating countries, namely Vietnam, Singapore, Australia, Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand, Brunei, China, Japan, the Republic of Korea, the U.S., and India, were organized into two tactical groups to conduct a number of joint activities like moving in formation for aerial photography, conducting helicopter landings and replenishment at sea, as well as sharing information about suspected vessels.

Frigate 016 - Quang Trung of Brigade 162 of the Vietnam People’s Navy successfully fulfilled all training contents, running at an equal speed, keeping the even distance between ships, strictly following tactical orders, and closely cooperating with other participating ships.

Naval Captain Nguyen Thanh Ngan, Deputy Chief of Staff of Naval Region 4 evaluated that in spite of their first experience of working in an international environment and unfavorable weather conditions, the crew-members of Frigate 016 - Quang Trung successfully accomplished the drill contents.

The Vietnamese naval delegation planned to participate in the opening ceremony of the International Maritime Defense Exhibition Asia 2019 (IMDEX Asia 2019), the celebration of the 10th anniversary of foundation day of the Information Fusion Center (a multi-national maritime security) and the International Maritime Security Conference in Singapore on May 14 and 15.
