Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad presided over the event from Commanding Ship 151.

The fleet review was attended by seven chiefs of navy, 21 representatives of participating delegations, 27 ships of Malaysian forces, and 15 ships from other countries in the region and beyond. Frigate 012 (Ly Thai To Frigate) of the Vietnam People’s Navy joined the event.

During the review, the chain-of-command and crew-members of the Vietnamese frigate strictly followed the moving direction assigned by the organizing panel, ensuring the distance between the frigate and other participating ships and conducted protocols as regulated.

The same day, the staff and operation group on Frigate 012 began the on-base exercise with naval troops from other participating countries. Under the chair of the host, participating forces discussed and agreed on the exercise plan and related contents.

Joining the review, troops of the Vietnamese frigate had actively prepared for activities at sea. This is a chance for Vietnamese naval troops to exchange, learn from experience and heighten their ability in coordinating with naval troops of other countries.
