Vietnamese engineering troops ensures good technical equipment maintenance
PANO - A inspection delegation of the United Nations Interim Security Force for Abyei (UNISFA), led by Raju Khadka, Head of the Equipment Management Department for contributing countries, conducted a comprehensive assessment of Vietnam’s Engineering Company Rotation 3’s equipment readiness capability.
The delegation focused on checking the technical conditions, operational ability of key equipment, self-sustaining supplies, logistics, technical support, communications, weapons, military medicine, environmental sanitation, and disease prevention. The inspection also inspected personal equipment and military gear of troops in accordance with U.N. regulations.

According to Major Le Hong Quan, Deputy head in charge of logistics and technical services of Vietnam’s Engineering Company Rotation 3, in 2024, during the working visit to Abyei by the delegation of the Ministry of National Defense and the technical support team, the technical staff accompanying both delegations assisted the unit to check and repair vehicles and equipment.

Meanwhile, the unit received a number of necessary equipment and materials transported by air and sea, which helped the unit replace and repair degraded equipment, ensuring technical readiness and effectively completing its missions.
This was a routine inspection by the UNISFA for units from contributing countries. Vietnam’s Engineering Company Rotation 3 well prepared for the inspection and meet the U.N.’s requirements.
