Under the theme of "Naval engineering support," the conference provided an overview of the formation and development of the naval engineering force, specialized training programs, technical equipment upgrades, engineering support in combat operations, and the construction of national defense works. It also highlighted key achievements, valuable lessons, and effective models implemented by Brigade 131 in fulfilling its missions.

Over nearly past 50 years, Brigade 131 has been tasked with various challenging and hazardous missions across multiple locations. Despite difficulties and dangers, its officers and soldiers have consistently achieved outstanding results, contributing to reinforcing national defense and security in the current context as well as improving the lives of local residents.

During the meeting, participants discussed theoretical and practical issues related to the construction of defense projects, the role of engineering support in strengthening national defense and security over sea and islands, and lessons learned from Brigade 131’s experience. Delegates also exchanged insights with Lao military students on specialized training in engineering, including bomb, mine, and explosive detection.

In his concluding remarks, Senior Colonel Pham Dinh Vong commended Brigade 131’s accomplishments in engineering support and national defense and security reinforcement. The meeting provided the delegation and the National Defense Academy’s officers and students with practical knowledge and experience, serving as a foundation for applying these insights to their specific contexts. It also strengthened the solidarity and friendship between the militaries and people of Vietnam and Laos.
