Vietnamese Defense Ministry to facilitate cooperation between Vietnamese, Lao chemical forces

The statement was made by Deputy Defense Minister Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien during a reception for a delegation of the Chemical Department of the General Staff of the Lao People’s Army on April 6 at the Headquarters of the Ministry of National Defense. The visiting Lao delegation was led by Director of the Chemical Department Colonel Thiem Homsana.

At the meeting, Sr. Lt. Gen. Hoang Xuan Chien emphasized that leaders of the two countries and two defense ministries always attach great importance to preserving and consolidating Vietnam - Laos special solidarity and wish to further strengthen it.

He recalled that in the “Vietnam - Laos, Laos - Vietnam Solidarity and Friendship Year 2022,” the Vietnamese and Lao Ministries of Defense closely cooperated to organize series of practical activities, contributing to popularizing the special, faithful, and pure solidarity between the two countries. 

At the event, Colonel Thiem Homsana briefed the host on the outcomes of the recent working session between the Lao delegation and the Chemical Corps of the Vietnam People's Army and vowed to promote the implementation of inked cooperation plan this year.

The head of the Lao delegation hoped that the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense will further facilitate the cooperation between the chemical corps of the two countries.

Acknowledging and highly appreciating the outcomes of the two forces so far, the Vietnamese deputy defense minister suggested that they focus on strengthening exchange of experience and professionalism and raising officials’ knowledge, competence, and mastery of modern equipment. He affirmed that the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense will support and create all favorable conditions for chemical forces of the two countries to foster their cooperation, contributing to further strengthening the bilateral defense ties.
