The Vietnamese delegation was led by Commanding Officer of the Dien Bien provincial Military Command Senior Colonel Le Van Son, while the Lao side was headed by Political Commissar of the Phongsaly provincial Military Command Major General Xiengpheng Bualavong.

At the working session, the two sides evaluated that over the past time, they have grasped and disseminated documents and cooperation protocol on foreign relations and defense diplomacy reached by the two parties, states, and militaries; strengthened collaboration between functional agencies and localities along the shared borderline; fostered education and information dissemination to encourage locals to strictly observe regulations; worked with each other to ensure the effective implementation of contents of the 4th Vietnam - Laos Defense Policy Dialogues; enhanced information exchange; strictly managed activities in border areas, promptly detecting and handling issues.

In the coming time, the Dien Bien provincial Military Command and the Phongsaly provincial Military Command will accelerate education and dissemination of the great friendship, special solidarity, and mutual trust and understanding between the two parties, states, and militaries; and traditions of the two provinces’ armed forces.

They will well carry out regulations to build a borderline of peace, friendship, cooperation, and development, thus firmly protecting the great friendship and special solidarity between Vietnam and Laos.
