At the meeting, in an intimate, united, and friendly atmosphere, the two sides reviewed recent outstanding results in socio-economic, cultural, defense-security situations of each country and each province in general and of the two provincial armed forces in particular.

Accordingly, the two military commands have regularly, closely coordinated, exchanged information, pro-actively given recommendations to party committees and authorities of the stationed localities to help build the local armed forces, firm defensive areas, consolidate defense and security posture, and promote sharing of experience in economy, culture, and social affairs.
They have also actively and pro-actively disseminated information and effectively brought into play the special solidarity, comprehensive cooperation between the two countries, contributing to building and consolidating the friendship, cooperation, and development of the nations.

In addition, they have enhanced defense diplomacy activities according to their memorandum of understanding (MoU) 2023.
In order to promote the achievements, thus upholding each province’s political stability, and socio-economic development, the two sides emphasized the need to boost information exchange, experience sharing in terms of building comprehensively-strong provincial armed forces. They agreed to strengthen information dissemination and education about the special solidarity and friendship between Vietnam and Laos to the armed forces and people of Lai Chau and Oudomxay provinces.
At the end of the talks, the military commands of Lai Chau and Oudomxay provinces signed an MoU for 2024.
