Vietnamese and Chinese units hold talks
PANO - A delegation of eight border posts in the North of Vietnam’s Ha Giang province held talks with the Border Meeting Point of Funing area of China’s Yunnan province on April 2 in Funing district.
The delegation of Vietnam’s Ha Giang provincial Border Guard Command, including Nghia Thuan, Son Vi, Xin Cai, Dong Van, Lung Cu, Pho Bang, Bach Dich, and Tung Vai border posts, was led by Major Sung Minh Phuc, Head of Nghia Thuan Border Post. The Chinese delegation was headed by Major Li Xiaoguang, deputy head of the border meeting point.

During the talks, both sides agreed that they have effectively carried out the tasks of combating crime, managing and protecting the border in accordance with the three legal documents on the Vietnam-China land border and contents of the memorandum of understanding signed by both parties. In the first quarter of 2024, the two sides exchanged 29 letters and made 39 phone talks. They regularly met to exchange information related to border management and protection and visited and sent letters of congratulations to each other on special occasions.
Regarding missions in the coming time, the two sides agreed to continue strictly implementing the three legal documents on the Vietnam-China land border and the minutes of the meetings of the Vietnam-China Land Border Joint Committee. They will strengthen education and dissemination of policies and laws to residents living along the shared borderline and prevent crime to ensure social order and stability in the border area.

Units of the two countries will further ensure the integrity of border markers and paths; enhance exchange and cooperation; maintain regular dialogue and patrol mechanisms and other forms of cooperation.
