An overview of the talks

Last year, implementing the three-level border guard cooperation agreement between the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense and the Chinese Ministry of Public Security, the two sides conducted patrols, effectively maintained the information exchange mechanism; organized meetings. As a result, together with combating crimes, the two sides conducted eight joint patrols; completed border exit and entry procedures for more than 28,000 citizens; organized meetings and exchanged dozens of letters; held 23 phone talks; informed each other about the situation of pandemic in each country and crime in border areas.

In the coming time, the two sides agreed to continue to further strengthen coordination in information exchange and bilateral patrols; strictly manage and control border areas to promptly and effectively prevent all types of crimes; boost information dissemination and education to raise locals’ legal knowledge, thus encouraging them to strictly observe the Agreement on Regulations on Border Management; create favorable conditions for import and export activities.

At the talks, Xin Cai Border Post and Son Vi Border Post respectively signed agreements on jointly building friendship posts and border gates and borderline of peace, stability, and mutual development with Tianpeng and Heping Sub-stations.
