Vietnamese and Chinese border guard units hold talks
PANO - Delegations of Vietnamese and Chinese border guards held an online talks and a friendship exchange on December 29 on the occasion of the New Year 2023.

The talks was participated by delegates from the Border Posts of Lao Cai International Border Gate, Bat Xat, Muong Khuong, and Pha Long under Vietnam’s Lao Cai provincial Border Guard Command and China’s Hekou Border Checkpoint for Immigration.
During the event, delegates evaluated that over the past years, the two sides have strictly carried out contents of three legal documents on border and bilateral cooperation agreements on border and border gates.
The Vietnamese and Chinese units have stayed united, respected, supported each other, and worked together to facilitate the circulation of goods through border gates while ensuring the COVID-19 epidemic prevention and control. They have actively coordinated in disseminating and educating people in border areas about contents of the three legal documents on border.
Border guard forces of the two countries have conducted 12 joint patrols with the participation of 960 troops; cooperated to effectively handle border-related issues and combat crimes and illegal acts in border areas and at border gates.

In the coming time, the two sides agreed to accelerate inspection and management of border areas, border gates, entry and exit activities; renew dissemination methods; make recommendations to higher levels to have policies to create favorable conditions for people and vehicles to travel.
On the occasion, the two sides handed over the “Friendship Ambassador” title in the fourth quarter to their troops.
