Vietnam and Chinese border guard units hold meeting
PANO – Representatives of the Border Stations of International Border Gates of Lao Cai, Bat Xat, Muong Khuong and Pha Long under Vietnam’s Lao Cai Provincial Border Guards held an online meeting with counterparts from Hekou Border Checkpoint of China’s Yunnan province on September 20.
At the meeting, the two sides reviewed their collaboration in border management, pandemic prevention and control, and other fields while discussing cooperative measures in the time to come.
Accordingly, both sides agreed to continue to maintain hotlines to exchange and share information related to the pandemic situation, illegal immigration, and the economic activities in border areas. They consented to coordinate to ensure absolute safety for the border area during important events of each country.
The four border units of Vietnam have collaborated well with Hekou Border Checkpoint to accelerate twinning activities, maintain joint patrols, and implement new cooperative models such as the “Ambassador of Vietnam-China Friendship,” medical assistance for the COVID-19 prevention and control, and so on.
These results help enhance the friendship, trust, and mutual understanding between the two sides, contributing to building a borderline of peace, friendship, stability, and development.
On the occasion, the two sides held a friendship exchange to mark the 73rd anniversary of the National Day of the People’s Republic of China and present the “Ambassador of Vietnam-China Friendship” title.
